The Canterbury Mineral and Lapidary Club was founded in November 1964 and is based in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The aims of the club are to bring people together who are interested in geology, mineralogy and lapidary work in all its aspects, for mutual enjoyment and education. In particular the study of gemstones, fossils and minerals and the preparation, setting and display of these.

The club owns premises at 110 Waltham Road, next to the Waltham Primary School, where monthly meetings are held.

The club holds 10 meetings a year, in the months of February to November, with a social function held in December. The meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month.

You can download a pamphlet about our club with this link: Brochure

Outside guest speakers are often organised as well as talks from members, videos and films of recent trips or topics of interest. Besides being informative, these meetings are also pleasant social occasions, where members can meet and chat over supper.
